Barilla Gnocchi No.85 is pasta inspired by the traditional shape of Italian gnocchi.
Neapolitan pasta masters took inspiration from the shape of classic potato gnocchi, but created a traditional dried semolina pasta. With their typical round shape, delicate ridges and clever indentation in the middle, they act as the perfect “spoon” that captures the maximum amount of sauce with every bite.
The shape of Gnocchi goes well with thick and meaty sauces, such as traditional Bolognese ragu. However, they also excel in a simple but honest tomato sauce with fresh basil, or as a base for pasta baked in the oven with mozzarella and Parmesan.
